Man spits in TriMet driver's face, flees
PORTLAND -- Police were looking Tuesday morning for a man who spit in the face of a TriMet driver on NE 122nd, north of Halsey.
The passenger ran from the bus. His girlfriend was detained, according to TriMet officials.
The couple boarded the bus without valid transfers, said Sgt. Pete Simpson. They were asked by the driver to leave the bus when the man spit on the driver.
TriMet officials said spitting on a person is a crime and they urge drivers to press charges in cases like this.
