Occupiers turned terrorists
I have noticed that no one in the media has uttered the word "terrorists." Terrorists are not Muslims or from one particular political or religious persuasion, And it certainly seems within the realm of terrorism to create, store and use Molotov bombs. See Portland Police Press Release and Willamette Week.
How about this definition of terrorism: "The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons."
It may be a little broad, but one can be sure that if the person who threw the bomb had a "Muslim" name - the story would be different.

Occupy PDX
It's over | Jack Bogdanski
And I have heard rumors that sometime tomorrow the occupiers in PDX could be given a 72hr warning to get out of the park. If that happens, I doubt it will go down lightly. I just don't want to see Occupy PDX go down like some of the others have.

Banning the signing bus driver

Okay, now I don't know about you, but I think if I had gotten on a bus with a driver like that I would've loved it. It would be so amusing and cool (and he actually has a decent voice)!

Portland's TriMet Gains National Exposure
Yep - steel, glass, and plastic. Amusingly, the train - which Tri-Met refers to as "high-capacity transit" - had two passengers on board when the incident occurred; fortunately, as noted above, they weren't injured. There was plenty of room for them. No word on whether or not either passenger had actually paid to ride. That's how Tri-Met rolls.
Non-Service Alert
On November 11 (Veterans Day), buses and trains will run on their regular schedules. Check trimet.org/holidays for more details on holiday service.
IT'S BAAAACCCKKK! THE $458 MILLION LAKE OSWEGO STREETCAR
The promoters of the project, who stand to gain in various ways by the selection of streetcars over buses, “used incorrect assumptions to present exaggerated benefits of Streetcar.”
As a result, Paranjpe contends, they have have invalidated the findings of the draft environmental impact statement. In other words: If this thing is built, it will be done so on a foundation of lies.
Supporters of the streetcar line have ignored the future of telecommuting and the coming of the electric transit bus, Paranjpe said. He’s also convinced that they have played fast and loose with numbers supporting the operating cost benefits of a streetcar line.

Portland police sued for false arrest
Arguably Mr. Gasque went wrong by asserting his rights. Mr. Gasque's apparently had the audacity to refuse a search of his person and to haul out his ACLU "rights" card. The police - submit to a search or go to jail. He chose jail. The DA dropped the charges and Mr. Gasque is suing the Portland police.

Boring still wants out, BUT...
But people with limitations such as the blind, frail elderly and those who are physically, mentally or emotionally challenged simply want no change. They have no other form of transportation but TriMet.
I've commented quite a few times over this blog about this and my opinion remains the same: TriMet just needs to look closely at the 84 route and come up with a way that would make it a usable bus line for commuters, even if that means having it go from Clackamas to Boring/Kelso or something similar. Removing TriMet from the Boring area would remove more than the currently useless 40' bus that traverses the route a few times a day; it would remove TriMet's vital LIFT service which many people depend on as a lifeline to get around and have no other way to get around.
Every once in a while, a scumbag TriMet bus driver appears...

But that driver would not be you, Steve!
