More signs that PMLR is a waste of money and should not be built? I would say so.
I'm so sick of all this Rotten Orange line stuff. This project should've been scrapped before it started, but here we are talking about TriMet and so we know that would never happen

TriMet ridership numbers in for September...
...and guess what the headline of TriMet's news release is? Yep, you got it: MAX Green Line and WES continue double digit growth.
Actually, that headline, at least from WES's standpoint (I haven't had the chance to look into this for our green pea line yet) ain't even close to true. Yes, compared to last year WES's ridership numbers are up by about 2,000, but only hovering around the 8,000 mark. To make it better, the numbers that we had seen rising over the past months have seemed to dwindle out and have platooned at around 8,100ish. I don't call that a double digit increase...do you?
As usual, buses continue to be the workhorses of TriMet's fleet while getting no recognition:
Bus: Weekly trips were up 0.6 percent at 1,176,300
MAX: Weekly trips were up 5.9 percent to 836,500
WES: Weekly trips were up 13.2 percent to 8,150
But the real thing that makes me happy now is that it has been past the year long mark since TriMet crucified the bus service hours back in September 2010 (oh how i wish for the 51 to have its old schedule back) and now these numbers will be compared to the ridership numbers after the grueling service cuts took place over a year ago. That should make the numbers quite a bit more accurate as we continue farther and farther away from the year mark of those cuts.

We will build this. We are building this. Now how are we going to pay for it?
Streetcar project in trouble. Oh, but don't worry: they'll find the money somewhere.

Come Halloween time I always used to absolutely love going to school in my Halloween costume. It shouldn't be banned.
