Portland airport

Now why is KGW and koin local 6 at the airport terminal at this time of the night? There's nothin going on!

I hate being gone. Happy to be back in my home city of Portland, Oregon.

That's the wrong person to hit, if anybody

Bike Portland.org has reported that a Multnomah county judge was hit on SW Terwilliger while biking. Needless to say, the driver was ticketed. The judge was sent to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Bike Portland

Ask BikePortland: Is cutting in line OK during bridge lifts?
Six more intersections to get bike boxes, crosswalk improvements

Boring wants out. Again.

Boring ready to pull the plug on TriMet.
But didn't we hear about this back last winter and nothing appeared to happen?
I stand the same about this.
Stupid idea, Boring. Don't do it. Simple as this: the people who do use TriMet's service out there are using it because they NEED it and have no other option. You cut away from TriMet and what will those people (the majority of which use LIFT) do? You don't have anything else planned  to fill the gap do you? No? Thought so. So don't do it. These people need their transit access. Plain and simple.

Meanwhile, in the Pacific Northwest...

Shouldn't this have been the price tag in the beginning?

Officials have cut $100million from the I-5 bridge project. That being, the price tag  of this bridge will only now be a measly $3 billion and up to $3.4billion project.
The only thing i have to say is that when they were coming up with the cost of this bridge in the first place, shouldn't they have made sure they were  spending the least amount of money possible initially?

Boring TriMet

Boring folks, like residents of Sandy and elsewhere, have had about enough of TriMet, and they're getting ready to pull the plug from the trough. Businesses there pay the same rate as businesses in downtown Portland, but receive about one quarter of one percent of the level of service. They're being bled to pay for Portland's rail infatuation, and they're looking to get out.

Have guns given way to knives as weapon of choice?

"Portland Police Arrest 4 Suspects in 4 Separate Stabbings This Week" that according to the Press Release. What isn't immediately apparent is that 2 of these stabbings took place in - you guessed it - Old Town. One occurred at CC Slaughters and the other was at Transition Project Inc (TPI). It is the latter that is of interest not only because of its location but the narrative.
A Perspective

Disasters

Hurricane Irene is all over the news, so it must really be something.
Actually, not so much. It's just that the media's based mostly on the east coast, so anything that happens there is automatically "news".

Boy I sure hope that they're overstating this somehow or that the hurricane changes paths suddenly to miss the US cities in the line of fire. If this does hit it will be devastating to the cities/states in its path.
