They don't talk much about the MAX Green line art

Al originally posted about this with this link on his blog.
In response I have to say...Well, Al. MAX green line was over 2 years ago now. That rotten Orange line is coming whether we like it or not so that's the art in the news. No matter how creepy. And why would they? Anyways, just talking about our Lime Green Line's art would be leaving out the others.
So since we're looking at the Lime Green line's art how about we check out some others too?
The Banana Line
The Westside Blueberry Line
The Black Hole Commuter Rail
The Tomato Line
And I guess the Eastside Blueberry Line portion gets left out from the art...I guess TriMet doesn't want to privilege those guys with the 'beautiful' MAX station art.

Keep 'em Shiny Trains a comin'!

A big story this past weekend was about how Oregon can't afford to staff its state trooper patrols.
And yet it has $250 million (plus interest) for the Mystery Train from Portland to Milwaukie.
When they ask you to vote for a tax increase for more cops, keep Milwaukie MAX in mind.
Keep holding your heads high Oregonians! You've always got such brilliant ideas...

Don't ask, don't tell in Lake O.

D-Day

But if one views any of the many documentaries (Netflix has several) concerning the invasion - it is seen that the invasion and ultimate success came at a high price in allied and American lives.
A Perspective

Uh oh

All eastbound traffic lanes of I-84 are closed due to a car fire.
This is according to KGW [watching the news tonight].

Re-Polishing the Plan

The TriMet Board of Directors is scheduled to vote July 27 to move up the pre-preliminary engineering phase, which was initially scheduled to begin in the fall. The work is expected to cost around $600,000 to $700,000, which will be split between the cities of Portlandand Lake Oswego.
Proposed Lake Oswego streetcar to enter cost, design refinement phase later this month

Why Illegal Fireworks are Illegal

According to KGW, there were 41 firework-related fires last night. Over half of those were because of illegal fireworks.
:( But the illegal fireworks are the best...But the fires are bad.
The biggest problem that I can see is that Washington sells them easily and that is just a quick hop over the river.

Sticks and Stones can Break Your Bones, but Words can Never Hurt You

Did you hear about this guy? Apparently he made deadly threats to the President over voice messages from multiple states. He was threatening to kill Obama and his family.
Oh just wait, it gets better: It was a Portlandia resident.

Words are Never Enough

"Words are never enough." Graphic images or not - it is imperative that the public is aware of the costs. It is the media's job - why can't they do it?

What happened with this?

They were supposedly "evaluating" my safety request which involved putting fans into the old buses. Nothing.....

One of the sites I hit fairly regularly is reporting that the US Army has spent nearly $3 billion on a battlefield computer system that doesn't work - when less expensive and proven tech was available.

Brains behind WES leaves his Portland State gig

If I had anything to do with the WES rail line between Beaverton and Wilsonville -- one of the biggest mass transit failures in history -- I would be slinking off into a dark corner somewhere and keeping my name out of the limelight.

There were so many fireworks going off on my street  last night. Most of them were the illegal ones..
