Another rail operator gets cancer

Reliable sources have informed us that another light rail operator has come down with stomach cancer. One has to wonder where all these cases of stomach cancer are coming from? The job maybe?

Portland Tribune Drops Ball On Major Story

Man killed by MAX train at East Burnside and 122nd Avenue in Portland 'a clear suicide,' investigators say

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2011/06/man_killed_by_max_train_at_eas.html
Interesting how they ruled it to be a suicide so quickly. I'm not saying that it was the MAX operator's fault because it wasn't, but I just find it to be interesting that they went straight to the conclusion of suicide...
I feel bad for the MAX operator, though. There's no mention of him/her at all in this whole thing.

Don't Go Losing Your Head

Suspended Agitation

The lesson, if I may be tendentious for moment, is that the human race is welcome at any time to begin living differently, at a smaller scale, much more locally, with fewer automatic machines doing all the work for us, and more time spent on useful and necessary activities than on television fantasies. Got a problem with oil? Don't imagine that you're going to run WalMart - or, for that matter, Goldman Sachs - on wheat-straw distillates. Something is in the air this week and it is making a lot of people very nervous. If you loaded up the old investment portfolio with shale gas stocks, I feel especially sorry for you.
Clusterfuck Nation

Oh Shit!

Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was killed about 9:15 this morning when struck by a MAX light-rail trail at 122nd Avenue and East Burnside.

The train was pulling into the station when it struck the man, who reportedly fell under the train and was decapitated.
