Disabled oppose fare increases for LIFT at TriMet meeting

This pisses me off. What TriMet should be doing is raising WES commuter fares! That thing costs somewhere around $19 per boarding ride, so why not increase fares for WES and not hurt the most vulnerable. Yes, I do think LIFT fares are a tad cheap, but couldn't TriMet just raise them, say, up to $2? The saved dollar will make a hell of a lot of difference for those people.
The luxury WES riders should be paying more. WES already is a black hole and if TriMet continues to claim that ridership is rising, then it could give TriMet more revenue by raising fares for WES more than just $0.05.

I notice too when taking Max that frequently when trying to deboard the door blockers will all but create a wall making it darn near impossible for anyone to get off the train! They wont even move for wheelchairs coming off!!! Really people? Would it kill you to take 5 or 10 seconds to look in the train to see if folks, or a wheelchair are coming off? If you stand to the side and let folks deboard that train, do you honestly believe the train will leave the station without you? Let's use some simple, common courtesy.
