TriMet loves their max. Screw buses.

TRIMESS
Apparently, this morning TriMet cancelled 6 or 7 runs. All because the max was down. TriMess pulled people off their regular bus runs to do a stinkin bus bridge! One lady that rides the 67 in morning was late to work because her bus didn't show! A bus driver, Jose, was driving 6767 then and they pulled him for awhile!..TRIMESS..always filling for max!..crazy asses!

Earth Day

For each mile taken on TriMet, 53% less carbon is emitted compared to driving alone. Combined, our buses and MAX eliminate 205,300 daily car trips, or 65 million trips each year. Wow!

April is Earth Month and many people are taking positive action toward a healthier lifestyle by choosing to ride public transit. Individually we can make a difference in our own health and in our community by taking steps toward a smaller carbon footprint. Need a few ideas on how?

Go Green commemorative stamps

On April 14, the United States Postal Service released their Go Green commemorative stamp series. Among the 16 designs is a stamp featuring public transit. The Go Green stamps are meant to raise awareness to conserve natural resources and promote the health of our environment.

Essential travel tips for Timbers fans

Parking near JELD-WEN Field (formerly PGE Park) is scarce. That means buses and trains are going to be crowded, especially after a match. We're running extra MAX service on game days, but please be patient and expect to wait for a train, as MAX can only hold about 300 people.

Fall fare increase proposed to help offset rising costs

A fare increase is proposed for September 2011. The increase will help cover the rising costs of providing bus and rail service, and to avoid further major service cuts. Like most years, we plan to raise single fares by 5 cents. We also propose raising the price of an Adult 1-Month Pass by $4 and the price of a Youth Pass by $1. The TriMet Board of Directors will consider these increases at its April 27 evening meeting, with a decision expected at the May 25 meeting.

The transit agency can take no blame for it. Why, when bus service is cut ridership should rise! Doesn't that make sense?

This seems like something TriMet would do, too.

Why not radiation-test West Coast fish?

Fish such as salmon and tuna swim long distances in their lifetimes, and many make it quite a ways toward Japan before turning back to the United States. Alaska is one of Japan's closest neighbors -- you-know-who can see it from her back porch.

Gaming Our Own Asses

I have never lived in a time when so many false narratives competed for supremacy of the collective mind-space. Omnipresent as it is, reality seems to elude us, and certainly its supposed interlocutors - figures such as presidents, his highest appointed officials, their voluble, strutting opponents in the other party, the glamorpusses behind the Cable TV news desks, poor dim Bill Keller at The New York Times, and, of course, the necromancers of economics on campuses from Cambridge to Palo Alto.
