I've got a tip for you. If you want to be rude to a bus driver and not make it obvious who you are, don't do something on a bus that has cameras which will record you.
Or you could be nice to the bus driver. They would probably greatly appreciate it.

One of the oldest transit bus fleets in Amerika!
And TriMet's buses are sure showing their age. We've got leaky buses, squeaky buses, rattling buses, broken buses now kept only for spare parts, you name it, TriMet's got it!
The 1400 and 1600 40 and 30ft Gillig Phantom buses are now the ripe old age of 21 with 1700s-1900s not far behind at 20 years of age. And bought in 1997, we have our 2000 New flyer low floors and 2100 Gillig Phantoms aging at 14 years. Even that's old for a transit bus.
TriMet needs to buy some new buses pronto! No more putting it off, no more half-hearted attempts by putting it in ballots for voting or anything. The reality of it is that TriMet's buses are getting too old. Those 1600s (maybe even 1400s and 2100s, too) weren't even originally meant to be transit buses! Let alone be transit buses for 21+ years.
If TriMet wants to provide reliable service to its riders they need to wake up and smell the roses. Buying new buses and restoring bus service should be high priority if TriMet wants to raise ridership. But here, now i'm getting off topic.
Just tonight I was waiting for my now weekday rush hour service bus (line 51) and it never showed up. The bus had broken down as i later had found out. It stranded me and many others downtown until we were able to find other ways to get home tonight.
Now you ask, did TriMet do anything about this? Well sure, they sent a mechanic up to the broken down 1600, but what about us passengers waiting for our bus? That bus was scheduled as the one to make the last trip up the hill--the one i was waiting for.
TriMet's old bus fleet is making the bus system more unreliable, not to mention the gouging service cuts from last Sepember.
Wake up, TriMet. We need new buses and we need them now.

TriMet Passes For Private School Students Too?
http://www.wweek.com/portland/blog-2928-trimet_passes_for_private_school_students_too.html
I would love that. I go to a private school, but i'm on a full scholarship and it would be so helpful to not have to pay for a trimet pass every month. Not everybody who goes to a private school has a lot of money...
