TriMet: Making a Difference

They're back!
Story Here

Hmmmm...Anyone notice how these stories are never about bus (or even MAX) operators anymore?

ANOTHER EXHAUST VICTIM

AL M

I think I must be dreaming. I'm riding 5101 up the hill right now in a 2800! This bus NEVER gets low floor buses...let alone 40 footers...especially at night...woah!

TriMet, you're breaking your own rule of no buses on the highway with chains. 58 has chains but the drivers have been told to take regular route, regardless. This happened last time, too.

It's fixed!

That transit tracker board at 5th and columbia is finally fixed....of course on the day where all buses are chained so the schedules get thrown out the window....gotta love how that works, huh?
Were you planning that, trimet?

Good luck to all you bus drivers out there that have to work today. These old buses, especially, are terrible with chains on.

About that snow...

How TriMet Bus Riders Want to Fight Back

Another person attending the OPAL rally was 16-year-old Cameron Johnson. The teen-ager started volunteering with OPAL last summer after he spoke at several TriMet meetings last year. Johnson says his father recently lost his job and that the family couldn't afford to keep their car. Now everyone in his family takes the bus to the grocery store, to movies and to school. With the shorter transfer times, he says, they can't get to all of the stops they need without buying two tickets. And if that wasn't bad enough, when they miss their connection they must walk home with their groceries. Johnson says he's already collected over 700 signatures from bus riders and is excited to keep spreading the word.
