Wonder how this will turn out?

ON MLK SERVICE

"If TriMet doesn't want to provide service, why does TriMet exist? Does Neil McFarlane get a pay cut because of the M.L.K. Day service cuts? Do riders get to pay a lower fare because of lower service?"

and to address one of his comments in this post, as well,
"On the other hand, TriMet still has an obligation to serve the public. I don't recall any printed schedules or notices on the buses to alert riders of the schedule changes (and not everyone has a cell phone or internet access)."
There actually were quite a few printed notices. TriMet had a printout thing that told which buses were running on weekday schedules or Saturday schedules or that weren't running at all.

Well this would sure be entertaining to see if they go through with it...

But would this really work? Classical music at some Max stations? Interesting idea, thats for sure...

Who would've guessed?!

Building some rail thing hurts bus service?? *gasp* Noooooooo! O.o
Shocker, aint it?

Why can't TriMet get its schedules straight for MLKJr Day?

I mean, really. The schedules are confusing as hell.

Lines 48, 52, 62, 71, 72, 75, 76, 77, 78, and 88 are all on Saturday schedule. The rest of the buses are either not running or on regular weekday schedules
And since when does having 23 bus lines out of service qualify as 'no service on a few lines'?
And OF COURSE all Max, Wes, and streetcars run their regular weekday schedules...why does that not surprise me?

Why?

2:48pm- TriMet is at work confusing people, this time on MLK day. Why are so many buses on different schedules--some on weekday schedules, some on Saturday schedules, and a large number not running at all? Why do you do that, TriMet? All it is is confusing...There are still a lot of people who work on MLK day. It is a very minor holiday.
