So this is what it really was supposed to say, originally supposed to be posted at 6:09pm tonight as I was waiting at SW 5th and Salmon st. for my line 51:

"Am I dreaming? Did I just watch a car actually pay attention to the 'yield' sign on the back of a 2600 on line 15 leaving a stop in the downtown transit mall??
Wow.
Hummm...Maybe motorists are starting to be kinder and more respectful of buses and their operators!
.......
naaaaaah. I'm probably just getting ahead of myself going as far as to think that."

It's so sadly rare to see another motorist behind a bus actually acknowledge that 'yield' sign. Most just ignore it and blast right on past the bus, delaying the bus on its schedule which could potentially have a ripple effect if that bus has a very tight schedule and the roads it travels on are often backed up with traffic.
A bus that is already 5 min+ late pulling into the stop could usually board passengers nice and quick. When the bus operator wants to merge back into traffic to continue on and try to keep or get back on the schedule, the operator generally would have to wait at least a minute or two for traffic to give way by chance (and for a bus that struggles to stay on schedule regardless), this is bad.
If more motorists (and cyclists!) started paying more attention to those yield signs and all bus operators used them (some don't anymore because they've given up with them since no one ever seems to acknowledge them), it potentially could help increase bus 'on schedule' efficiency and we all like that, right?

Alright, wow. That turned out longer than I had planned.
Dang. I'd better get back to that darn stuff called homework....
Until next time!
