TriMet is in the news again. again again....-sighs- methinks that this measure should've passed and that people are too focused on getting 'revenge' on TriMet to realize that they really are only hurting themselves by voting 'no'. i do realize that there are other reasons that people voted no. I understand. They voted no because they either didn't trust TriMet to use the money to actually replace those buses and improve stops or they thought, 'now why is TriMet asking for monney when they continue to build upon light rail? They must not be scrounging for money if they can continue to build light rail projects. Pay for it yourself, TriMet.'
Anyways, TriMet did use pretty bad timing asking for the money. Cut bus service, raise fares, and then expect voters in the area to vote yes to give you more money? If they were going to ask for the money at all, don't ya think they should have done that first and then, if they had to, cut service and raise fares? It may have allowed the measure to get more support and TriMet could've had a better chance of the bond passing...
To vote yes on the bond would've required TriMet to gain the people's trust in that they were actually going to use the money-if it had passed-to better bus stops and buy new buses.
Oh, there is so much that TriMet did wrong in asking for the money at the time they did.

Oh well, the past is the past. Now we just gotta hope these old buses are replaced soon. Soon as in before the floors start rotting on these old buses like the 300s, which were only retired because the floors started rotting and no longer usable.
