TriMet: Orange Line may require another $20 million from future operations
Portland AFoot
i have one comment about this article. Michael Andersen has stated, 'How much is $60 million? Using the last available costs, that’d be enough to reverse TriMet’s last, deepest round of service cuts on all its frequent service bus lines for about 11 years.'
He keeps mentioning the frequent service bus lines or what used to be buses with frequent service, but what about the buses that got hit hard by the cuts that were not frequent service lines? The 27, 51 and many other lines got service cuts or in the 27's case, was cancelled altogether. What about us? Are we nothing? do the buses without frequent service not matter? Are we forgotten? Do we not matter?
Buses even without frequent service need their service just as well as frequent service lines do. For example, the 51. That is the only bus that runs up to the West Hills. Yes, i do realize a lot of people that live up here do have a lot of money, but there are also many people, including myself, who live up here out of dumb luck. Many of us depend on this bus to get us up or down this monstrous steep hill, but the way the schedule is now, we have to use other means of transportation to get down the hill when the 51 isn't in service, such as walking, biking or driving, when if the 51 had late morning/early afternoon service, we wouldn't have to. We could just ride our little 1600 51 down the hill saving us a lot of headache.
Whether a bus has the infamous 'frequent service' or not, those bus riders still need their bus. Just because TriMet has not granted the line frequent service, doesn't mean we don't need our bus that much because we do. We might even need it more.

Alright, rant over. That turned out a lot longer than i expected it to be.

Portland man stabbed on bike path near Gateway Transit Center
TriMet needs to do something about Gateway TC. There have been too many incidents around that area in the past few days
